I know! I'm totally late to the game but whatever! This is some cool, silly, hilarious stuff. This is totally making my afternoon. Supposedly I need to study some dance moves so that MisterJT & I can battle. Hum..right. I like dancing but I'm not a dancer. Though, I do need to get him back for giving me a bump on my forehead the other night. I kind of wish that hit on the dancefloor was on video because I'm sure it was hilarious. HA!

I cannot wait for "The Dark Knight." I'm also excited about the new Terminator movies all because of the wonderful dapper Christian Bale. Seriously, he's just too much for me. That is all. Happy - wait, what day is it? Vacation has got me all scatter brained.

They sprayed some funky stuff on the roof so now the bees are "gone." Not gone actually because they keep trying to come back. Hopefully they found a better place to live. HURRAY! Imagine it and it shall be!

On a side note. Why are pizza rolls so good?

Cartoon Network "Flapjack" Sneak Peek

It's Sunday afternoon and I'm back at work. However, my brain is not really here. I spent a fun-filled evening last night with my two favorite men, Mister JT & Tall Guy, have a wonderful time at my favorite spot & today, I'm feeling it. I think, it's been a ~~good long~~ while since I've let loose like that because I've just been in San Diego & Santa Cruz for the better part of 3 weeks. Ok, I should scratch that because I did have super fun time with Felicious up in SC.

Anyway, yesterday, I went to see Wall-E and they had a little Cartoon Network preview for my new favorite cartoon, "The Marvelous Misadventure of Flapjack." It's really funny and smart. Flapjack is one of the cutest little characters and I think it's been awhile since there has been a good pirate cartoon. One of my favorite pirate cartoons was the "Pirates of Dark Water." Does anyone even remember that? If you want to laugh a bit, this is a good one to watch. I saw my niece & nephews watching it one night and I was not sure if it was age-appropriate at first because it was on during Adult Swim. Luckily, it was :)

Another thing that caused me to giggle was a link to some dogs surfing off of Imperial Beach:

It's the 3rd year so I think I'll try to check it out next year. I wonder if someone will let me borrow their dog for this. Those dogs are better than me!

Back in the 7th ring of hell

It's hot and humid and I'm all sorts of tired but I am glad to be back. I missed my bed and my sheets and it will be nice to actually have clean clothes in a couple of hours because I am doing my laundry. I will post about the conference on my other site so here I am going to post about the road trip.

With soaring gas prices, I was a little frightened about the possible demise of the road trip. I am a big proponent of hoping on one's car and heading in whatever direction just to see where you will end up or just taking a drive to a familiar place to see the sites. However, with it being over $50 a tank, I saw it all ending and I felt sad about how kids would not be able to do this. How wrong am I? If a person wants to go on a road trip, it's probably one of the easiest things to do!

This past week, I drove up to Santa Cruz for a teachers conference on classroom management. I drove alone. I have not taken a long solo trip in years. The last trip I took was to Sedona, Arizona. If you haven't been, I highly recommend it. It's beautiful!

When I drive alone, I try to stop at places to see what's going on. This year, I ended up stopping in Pismo Beach and happened upon a pretty amazing car show. It's called the Pismo Beach Classic if you are around in June next year it is definitely worth heading out to Pismo to see. I had a lot of fun walking around and checking out how create people are with their cars.

I hit all of my favorite spots in Santa Cruz and even spent time watching the surfers on West Cliff Drive.

I forgot how friendly people are in S.C. I ended up talking to a lot of random people when I was walking around. Also, the lovely Felicious came down to SF to hang out. We ended up singing karaoke at the bowling alley one night :) Always fun times with Felicious and then I visited my friend, Peter, at his new house. I won't even go into how much his house rocks and how I felt weird. It was fun except I still don't understand the appeal of San Jose.

Well, time to settle in...today I had a wedding in Palos Verdes but more on that later.

Back in Santa Cruz

A place where my heart was broken

It's Sunday and I'm back in Santa Cruz. I left super early so I could have time to relax before the start of the teaching conference I have for the next 3 days.

It's been nice walking around. I brought one of the school cameras so I think I got some decent pictures of surfers off of West Cliff Dr. I saw one guy and he made my heart flutter. Hubba hubba. hee hee

Anyway, I thought about going to the movies or something but I think I will chill tonight. Felicious will be joining me tomorrow and then I still have a couple of days to take in my favorite Santa Cruz spots. I already hit Taqueria Vallarta so tomorrow I'll try to get in Walnut Street Cafe and a morning run on West Cliff Drive. I really miss living here. It's so lovely and today was the perfect Santa Cruz weather.

I spent a better part of my day today watching the surfers and trying to time the waves. Some of those surfers surf right next to the cliff! I swear, I'd probably slam my head onto the cliff. I'm definitely, not that brave. One guy I saw had on a helmet - now, that's what I'm talking about. I'm investing for sure.

The drive up was pretty uneventful. Except for when I got to S.C. and saw the firefighters from the highway still dealing with hot spots. The fire was right up to the freeway. You can see burned homes and trees right along the road.

Augh. I think I planned this trip wrong. I should have left on the 26th because the conference goes up til 4pm on the 25th and then I have to drive to L.A. :(

Ok, I do have to say that I am SOOOO happy I'm not in L.A. right now. When I left it was already 80 degrees. I left at 7:00 am!

Look. I'm back with a real live site using traditional blog type software. I've been doing this for awhile so we'll fore go all the pleasantries and just reference a post I wrote on vox back in December. Speaking of vox, i'll probably keep it around when I want to write stuff that is for specific eyes only or if I want to post some random music in an easily playable format. I probably won't clutter up the sidebar with a bunch of links and things either. If you want to find me all over the web, check my friend feed.
