I became a fan of U2 by the age of 11... right around the time Achtung Baby was released. I fell in love with Larry Mullen by the age of 14. Die hard fan by the age 15. They've been in and out of my life ever since.
I am (almost) 28 now. U2 is back in my life again. But on some next level action... they've been dormant since my freshman and sophomore years of college.. a shame.
I am getting serious flashbacks of laying on my dorm room floor (in Seattle) with headphones on cranking these three songs and singing at the top of my lungs.
I just saw this movie tonight with my buddy, Doug. This must be experienced, not discussed. I have no words for it really. I am just incredibly blown away by it. If it is playing at a theatre near you, please go. This is the first live action concert filmed in this format.. and it is brought to us by NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC.

It's midnight... and I am listening to the rain. It has been raining all week in Los Angeles. And it seems like it will continue to this weekend.
Telefon Tel Aviv is just perfect for this weather... I've been listening to their remixes pretty much non-stop all week.
This song somehow floored me the first time I heard it. The events surrounding that first time listen were not as compelling as the way it made me feel. I just remember falling in love with the way this song was structured. No vocals... just synthetic beats.... dreamy... foreign...
a great soundtrack to the way my thoughts seem to move through my brain...
I love songs that seem cerebral. With many layers. I love uncovering each layer... figuring out why they work...
or why they do not.
Nonetheless, this song is right up my alley. The dreamy landscape, layered, ambient, type deal...
I cannot really wait until tomorrow to post my Friday favorite... I had to do it a day early for this one. That's how much I love this song :)
Telefon Tel Aviv is one of my absolute favorite unclassifiable bands. Ever. Probably # 1 of them all.
They are best on headphones whilst traveling, adventuring, exploring, crafting, baking, even working... :)
