I was once a very big fan of deep house music... French house, to be more specific. ("big fan" meaning that was all I listened to for months.)
This morning I woke up before 6am and felt the urge to organize and archive some of the old tunes I used to dance and listen to all the time.
This was during my college days... circa 1998.
I've been on a deep house kick lately...

To compliment a lovely post by MisterJT on a new track by Migs called 'So Far'. Plus lately it seems like we've been hit with a bit of Naked Music/deep house/Lisa Shaw fever. Though this does not have Lisa vocals - its still a favorite since its Blue Six.
Every time I've heard this version of Love Yourself (Basti and Vincenso remix) played at a party... I start dancing with my eyes closed and I am in it. It is just my cup of deep/soulful house tea.
It's instant happy for me.. definitely the best track on Nude Tempo.

At the peak of my golden days as part of staff at URB magazine... SF-based deep house label Naked Music was on top of its game. And as a WMC giveaway one year - we got an exclusive Naked mix. This track was my favorite off that mixtape. .

not too many of my friends know this about me - since well, i hardly listen to it when i am in their company. most of the time - i only go deep in the privacy of my bedroom (insert obvious joke here) hehe... with either my headphones on or in my stereo... when previously enjoyed in a party atmosphere - ironically, house is now a luxury that is appreciated by a party of one.
in the past, i used to dance to this kind of music... a lot. during the mid to late 90s and early 2000s.... house labels kept releasing so much good music - it was hard not to fall into it all...
i miss those days. miguel migs' remix of this mj cole track is probably one of my favorite deep house tracks.. ever.

i am currently enjoying my new sewing machine. so i decided to share some music that i am playing on my stereo at the moment. i guess bossanova/jazz and deep house is really upbeat and yet mellow enough to help you stay focused on your projects. i love it.what do you guys like to listen to when you're reading or working on a project?
*** anything released by naked music circa 98-00 is delicious. anything after that is just a poor remix of the stuff that came before. (with the exception of the aya release strange flower - which came out in may 04. her album is perfection.)
