I've been waking up in the middle of the night lately.... and usually during these late hours I will catch up on some reading (mostly missed posts on Google Reader) and I stumble. Tonight I stumbled upon this incredible music video - for a song by electronic artist, Pogo. The track is basically made up of sound clips from Alice in Wonderland. It is actually quite beautiful and I instantly fell in love with it. (For anyone that knows me well - noodley, spacey, pretty instrumentals like this will usually hook me pretty easily). After investigating a bit further, I just found out that Mau had posted this same video earlier this week. Makes sense.. and I'm not surprised as he and I see eye to eye on music in general... and anything that represents even a touch of our childhood will instantly be a favorite.
But wow.. the hook on this song is just as addicting as watching Alice in Wonderland. I can't stop listening to it. :)
Many thanks to my buddy, Mau, for tuning me into Goldspot. He invited me to their show about a year or so ago.. and I never made it. A total shame - as I absolutely love them now. Little did he know that the evening I missed their gig - I did my own research, got a few of their songs... now I've been happy owner of Tally of the Yes Men for a little over a year.
Gratzi Brown Cow!
Show us something faded.
"Hello?"
Well, his name is Mauricio. You see, Mau has been fighting the urge to join Vox forever. Today with help from JT - he is part of Six Apart's goldenchild.
So along with featuring him on today's Vox Hunt - I'm going to share a song that I know is on his top 20. A little welcome gesture as this is really cause for celebration. Since I Left You is just one of those tracks that bonded me to this sillyhead instantly. (and listening to The Avalanches never gets old for us! ever)
He and I do a podcast together called Headroom Radio... he used to write responses to our vox posts, as well as hilarious, geeky and witty entries on his own blog at MauBrownCow... now you can add him to your neighborhood : Mau
YAY! My Vox posse is complete.
