I absolutely love the energy from the guys of Minus the Bear. I adore their entire discography - all their funny song titles... and hey, they're from my second favorite city in the world - Seattle. My next wish is to see them live.
I think the movie, Singles, was a key factor in my decision to move to Seattle and attend college there. (Yeah, I know. I was sixteen.) After my highschool graduation, my brothers, and my best friend and I flew to Washington to hang out with my cousins. I left the city with a college application in one hand... a box of smoked salmon in the other. He he.
An acceptance eight weeks later... I had my bags packed.. and with slight hesitation from my dad - I was sent off to the city of Oz. To live my own version of grunginess and Single-dom. (well, maybe without the grunge)
This track reminds me of that time. Of that transition...
Awww... and Smashing Pumpkins! How I loved them. Man, this really feels like high school.
I am dragging this morning... after the crazy week and weekend Ive had ... my ears seem to desire ambient at all times. This is one of my favorite tracks... probably in my top 100. I am a huge fan of anything produced and remixed by the boys of Telefon Tel Aviv...
