The girls and I walked the 6-mile stretch of Santa Monica's bike path this morning. As expected I had my little iPod shuffle clipped nicely on my white hoodie through our walk. This song by the Stars came on and I found myself repeating it for at least five times during our workout. It's nice and mildly ambient... the lyrics are quite sad, but the composition is really beautiful. The strings in the beginning just hooked me right in.
Stars is fast becoming my favorite band out of Canada.
My friend, Gary, who's impeccable skill of finding the next great talent in music - sent me this mp3. and immediately it was clear this girl was going to be huge. Unfortunately, this is the only song I like of Lily's... I believe it to be her best. I haven't given much of her other work a real chance since I am still stuck on the production of this one. It's crazy and cheerful in all the right ways. Any suggestions?
I am enjoying the cold, wet weather in Los Angeles... and I've been listening to a lot of this today. Don't they look so cute with their hats? Makes me wanna chop my hair to a bob and wave it perfectly to match my hat. he he.
I think I will take pictures of rainy downtown when I get off work. *excited*

Happy Tuesday.
today i have the day off. i am going to ucla to check out grad school "stuff"...
i haven't been back on campus since last year's jazz fest -- it's always interesting to walk through after graduating from there almost five years ago. wow. i just dated myself. last week i received my 11th year high school anniversary reunion invitation... yeah, we were too lazy as a class to do the 10th last year. and no, i'm not attending.
i'll be honest that i miss going to class, being immersed in research papers and lectures, studying all day at the library, academia in general... i think i'm ready to throw myself back into it again. i've been waiting for the right time...
i haven't listened to camera obscura in such a long time...

who knew camera obscura would serve as a lovely aid to my domestication? hee hee.
