You see, my head is still fuzzy after polishing off two (or was it three?) glasses of Jameson whiskey and ginger ale from last night's shenanigans with the gang. Our Anna was greatly missed as she is currently in San Diego with her fam. But Miss Carolline joined us from the westside to join in the festivities and it was wonderful.
After two major career moves made by Felicious and I this past week... it was only fitting to mark our usual Friday evenings with a couple rounds of ketel one/soda, maker's mark and jameson... plus, a proper session of shakedown shuffling with the dance machine that is our dear Jason T... it was a good night. A night we needed... and it feels good to get over our certain 'humps' and look forward to an exciting future...
Sing it, Mr. Legend.
This is probably one of my favorite love songs of all-time.
Thanks for reminder, ladies.
Enjoy...
buy mixtapes, make mixtapes.. they are fun. Also.. read this.
Enjoy.
After a nice dinner with my buddy, Mister JT, and an evening's worth of discussion on truth and honesty and their obvious role in life progression... I am going to bring my Friday night to a close with a lil bit of Dwele.
i've always been a super fan of quincy jones. many thanks to my family actually... my two older brothers love him and so did my dad. so i was influenced from a young age to appreciate his songs. this particular one has been a favorite of mine for many years. i know it's a tad cheesy, but tying into the whole new year's thing - it's quite perfect. and anyone that knows me well will know that i'm a big softie and as such i have a penchant for uplifting-let's-make-the-world-a-better-place! songs... hee hee. and after spending an entire day with mom yesterday and taking her to see 'the pursuit of happyness' - i had to fold and gave in... gave into the cheese. i love it.
yay quincy and 2007! (and tevin campbell)
i'm dedicating this track to jason and i.
we heard this for the first time on kcrw's chocolate city en route to los angeles from san diego. yesterday, jason, felicia and i paid a visit to amoeba and he found this. (i have to give credit to JT for discovering it in the store first). since its pretty much inevitable that one of us will eventually upload it on vox -- i'd like to share it with our vox friends and have it kick off our 3 day weekend. welcome it nicely with a little bit of miss watley via mark de clive.
I cannot drop hints or mention anything beyond the existence of this since I cannot let him know...yet.
The difference between Alicia's lyrics and my situation?
This boy actually knows my name. We've already met...
and hung out once.
This is fun. I haven't had one of these in forever.
I used to be embarassed about loving this song. But it just fits my current mood - and I just really need to get over it and be proud of the things that I love ... to own it, as my buddies would say. I just find it amusing that I still get crushes. I thought that was over in the sixth grade.
Apparently not... in my little world, at least.
Sing it, Alicia.
