It's midnight... and I am listening to the rain. It has been raining all week in Los Angeles. And it seems like it will continue to this weekend.
Telefon Tel Aviv is just perfect for this weather... I've been listening to their remixes pretty much non-stop all week.
This song somehow floored me the first time I heard it. The events surrounding that first time listen were not as compelling as the way it made me feel. I just remember falling in love with the way this song was structured. No vocals... just synthetic beats.... dreamy... foreign...
a great soundtrack to the way my thoughts seem to move through my brain...
I love songs that seem cerebral. With many layers. I love uncovering each layer... figuring out why they work...
or why they do not.
Nonetheless, this song is right up my alley. The dreamy landscape, layered, ambient, type deal...
I cannot really wait until tomorrow to post my Friday favorite... I had to do it a day early for this one. That's how much I love this song :)
Telefon Tel Aviv is one of my absolute favorite unclassifiable bands. Ever. Probably # 1 of them all.
They are best on headphones whilst traveling, adventuring, exploring, crafting, baking, even working... :)
Enjoy.
I'm a big fan of dreamy, lush, shoegaze-y songs... stuff I can work to, read to, craft by, cook with, sleep to... everything.
so this song happens to match my mood lately. (a little sad, yeah? I know. I'm a wee bit of softie. :)) Telefon Tel Aviv are so right up my alley though - they are also one of my faves to listen to while traveling. Excellent for the in and out of consciousness (with headphones/iPod on) of dreamscaping while flying or waiting for your train at the station whilst reading a book.
yeah... i know.
i guess its the idea of realizing that a part of my life that was once painful is now behind me. listening to this track has dated that memory.. for good.
telefon tel aviv was the only therapy i needed to pull up and out of the heartache of my last serious relationship.
i fell in love with their composition... and everything about this album off of hefty.
man, i love these guys. i fell out of love with someone and into the sounds of TTV. thank goodness.
